The news comes as the Food and Drug Administration department is finishing long-awaited rules to improve sunscreens. The department wants sunscreens to be rated for the protection they give against deeper-penetrating ultraviolet-A rays that are linked to cancer and wrinkles.

The department has warned parents to be aware of the weather forecast for the day’s UV index in their town, to learn when to stay indoors or in the shade. In doing this, parents can better shield their children against harmful UV rays of the sun.

Dr. Nancy Thomas, a dermatologist at the University of North Carolina who led the UV research, says that sunscreen is imperfect and skin cancer is on the rise, therefore one should schedule activities outside when UV irradiation is not quite so high because.

Melanoma, the most fatal skin cancer, has already affected almost 60,000 Americans this year, and killed some 8,100. Earlier studies found that it usually strikes in the 40s or 50s, but cases are on the rise among the younger people.

The study is being conducted on Americans and Australians. Scientists are working to find the interaction of genes and UV exposure in skin cancer patients. With the initial results suggesting that overall sun exposure in childhood results in deadly skin cancer. Therefore staying in the shade in early life. Though, the reason behind isn’t that clear yet, but scientists feel that young skin is more vulnerable to damaging UV rays, especially as moles are developing.

In adults over 50, another melanoma subtype, characterized by alteration in a gene called NRAS, is strongly linked to UV exposure. Face Scrub For Dry Skin

Oatmeal face scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Take two tablespoons of oatmeal.

  • Take three to four tablespoon of buttermilk.

Mix both the ingredients together and apply it on face.

Let it dry and remove it by scrubbing and then wash it off with lukewarm water.


Almond face scrub:

Ingredients:

  • Take one tablespoon of almond oil.
  • Take two tablespoon of nourishing cream.

Mix the two ingredients to make a paste. Apply this paste on face and let it dry and then remove it by scrubbing. Wash it off with lukewarm water giving the final rinse with cold water.

Home-Made Body Lotions

Body lotions are used to make skin soft and smooth. People feel younger after using body lotions. There are large numbers of body lotions available in the market. But, a homemade lotion is the best method of saving money. There are various methods to make body lotions at home for maintaining the skin healthy.

Homemade Body Lotions:

Blue Satin Body Lotion

Ingredients:

  • Soap flakes – 3 full tablespoons
  • Witch – hazel about one teaspoon
  • A few drops—perfume and blue coloring
  • Water about four full tablespoons
  • Glycerin one full teaspoon
  • Olive oil – four teaspoons

Procedure:

Take the soap flakes and amount of water into a fry pan and low heat. Remove soap flakes after dissolving and then add olive oil, witch-hazel and glycerin in the mixture. Leave it for few minutes to cool. At last add a few drops of blue coloring. The body lotion is ready to use, it is become as a thin, lovely and cream blue mixture. Use it after taking shower.

Rose and Lime Body Lotion

Ingredients:

  • One tablespoon of glycerin
  • Three full tablespoons of rose water
  • Two full tablespoons of limejuice

Procedure:

Mix all ingredients well. And make a paste. People, who have dry skin, use this body lotion, as it is very effective for them and make the skin soft and smooth. One should store this body lotion in a cool place.

Almond Body Lotion

Ingredients:

  • One teaspoon of almond oil
  • About 10-12 full tablespoon of water
  • Three full teaspoons of lanolin
  • One teaspoon of vegetable lard
  • One teaspoon of petroleum jelly
  • Two full teaspoons of glycerin
  • One full teaspoon of perfume and cornflower

Procedure:

Heat all the essential oils and boiled water separately. Mix both of them after removing from heat. One should pour this mixture of body lotion into an airtight bottle. Always shake well before using this body lotion.

Lavender Body Lotion

Ingredients:

  • One full teaspoon of borax
  • One full cup of rosewater
  • Two tablespoons of warm olive oil
  • A few drops of lavender water

Procedure:

Mix borax in rose water and after this add olive oil in the mixture and beat gently. Leave it for 60 minutes and strain well. Shake well before using this body lotion.

Avocado moisturizer:

  • Take one teaspoon honey
  • Take 200 gm curd
  • One teaspoon of lemon juice.
  • Take a medium size avocado.

Mix honey and the pulp of avocado and make a thick paste of it. Add lemon juice and curd to make stiff cream. Refrigerate this mixture for half an hour. Massage it on face and neck till the cream is totally absorbed by the skin. Leave it on for one night and you will see a luster to your skin.

Lanolin moisturizer

      • Take one tablespoon of lanolin.
      • One vitamin E capsule.
      • Two teaspoons of cold water.
      • One an half tablespoon of almond oil.

In warm water warm the almond oil and lanolin in a dish. Add vitamin capsule and cold water and mix well. Apply this mixture on your face and neck.

Lemon moisturizer

  • Take one cup of distilled water.
  • Hundred grams of gelatine.
  • Two teaspoons of lemon juice.

Mix gelatine in water and add lemon juice to it and then refrigerate this mixture for twenty minutes. Apply this mixture on face and neck for 20 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.

Natural moisturizer for men:

  • Take two teaspoons of bee wax.
  • Twelve drops of sandal oil.
  • Take two tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Take six tablespoon of infusion of thyme.
  • Take two teaspoons of lanolin.

Melt the wax and combine all ingredients. Apply it over face to have the change on your skin.

You should wash your face with fragrance-free cleanser. If your skin is greasy then use cleanser that contains benzoil peroxide. You never use scrub because it can cause breakouts.

Treat:

You should apply an oil-free sunscreen lotion your face in the morning. You should use an oil-free moisturizer and drying spot-treatment product before going to the bed.

Conceal:

You should use a fingertip to wipe away excess concealer around the blemish. You should use a small makeup brush to concealer. If the makeup becomes cakey, wipe it off and again start.

Homemade recipes of pimples treatment:

1. Take ground drumstick pods and leaves. Mix together well with few drops of lime juice. Make a paste and apply on pimples.

2. Take equal amount of lemon juice and groundnut oil. Mix and form a paste. Apply on face and leave for about 15 minutes and wash off with water. It is good for prevent pimples.

3. Mix lemon juice into a full glass of boiled milk. Apply as a face wash regularly. It is a good face wash for pimples.

4. Fresh mint juice is a good treatment for pimples. Apply fresh mint juice over the face before going to the bed.

5. Take ripe tomatoes pulp and apply on the pimples. Leave it for one hour and wash off with water.

6. Take one teaspoon of sandalwood powder and 9-10 drops of rose water. Make a paste of sandalwood powder with rose water. Apply it over the face and leave for 15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water.

7. Take two teaspoon of roasted and pomegranate powder and 8-10 drops of lemon juice. Make a paste and apply it on affected areas of your face.

8. You should try a facial mud mask. It may shrink a pimple.

9. You should use the lightest-weight moisturizer and avoid overmoisturizing the skin.

10. You must drink 9-10 glass of water daily.

11. Juice of raw papaya is the best treatment for pimples. Apply fresh juice of raw papaya on pimples and get a good result.

Herbal Homemade Face Masks from Kitchen

A facemask of egg white and honey gently removes the tan from your face.

Mix oats with honey, yogurt and ground almonds. Apply this in your face, leave it for five minutes and wash with lukewarm water.

Cucumber is a natural cleanser. Mix cucumber juice with milk and use it instead of a cleanser.

Take 1/3-cup cocoa, three teaspoons of heavy cream, 1/3-cup ripe papaya, 1/4-cup honey and three teaspoons of oatmeal powder. Mix it all together. Apply on your face. After 10 minutes, wash your face with warm water. This is best for oily skin

For oily skin, apply a mixture of grapes, lemon and egg white. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water. While lemon acts as a natural cleanser, grapes will soften your skin and egg whites will tighten it. Don't be alarmed if your skin tingles.

Cut the lemon and rub the wedge all over your face. Leave it for about 20 minutes, then rinse off with cold water. This will refresh your face. Avoid doing this if you have dry skin. Mix honey, lemon and vegetable oil .This mixture is a good moisturiser for dry skin. Apply this mask for 10 minutes.

Apply the mixture of honey and milk on the face . This will make your skin glow. Prepare a mask by mixing a slice of pumpkin with egg yolk and milk. Let this mask set on your face for 30 minutes for a glowing skin.

Mix vinegar and rose water in equal quantities and apply.

Mix curd and cucumber juice and apply it on the face.

Apply the mixture of coconut water and thick pineapple juice.

Make a paste with 1/2 teaspoon of milk powder, 1/4 teaspoon of egg white and 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice and apply on the face.
